two things.

1. in yesterday's paper, there was a front-page article about the previous evening's "mini-festival of punk-pop bands":

"The five-band, four hour show was billed as the Black Clouds* and Underdogs Tour. But it felt more like Emopalooza, a celebration of songs about heartache and other non-angst emotions, starring three bands - the Grammy-nominated Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects and Hawthorne Heights - that started on the punk underground and have risen to the top of the pop charts" (emphasis mine).

2. my computer has been infected with spyware and viruses for months now, and no matter what i do it all comes back in a matter of days:

me: "i'm going to reformat the PC later on today."
mom: "okay."
(10 minutes later)
mom: "that doesn't mean that any of my files will be deleted, does it?"
me: "uhhh... actually, that's exactly what it means, because that's what reformatting is."
