sweet cuppin' kates
diaries usually have titles that have nothing to do with the diary itself

a vicious cycle

i wrote a short entry yesterday, but somehow it ended up in my private entry folder. i think im going to delete it. it was a brief run-through of my day that i was planning on elaborating on later anyway.

yesterday was soo relaxing. most of the morning was spent running errands with my host mother and sister. i shopped for a day planner and picked out a lunch box. afterwards the three of us had sandwiches for lunch. now im obsessed with ham and hard-boiled egg sandwiches. next on the list was strawberry shortcake and cheesecake, and then the registry office. each city in japan keeps meticulous records of its residents, even residents who will only be living in that city temporarily.

the rest of the day was spent killing time online, watching a tv show about polar bears, writing a letter to pat, and scrapbooking.

today consisted of the following:

-onigiri for breakfast
-a trip to the post office
-buying groceries
-sewing beanbags
-studying kanji
-paper airplanes
-making plans to meet kawamura-sensei, my former japanese teacher, this friday
-picnicking
-charming puppies

ill go into more detail sometime tomorrow. theres an open house early tomorrow morning that i need to attend, so it looks like ill be getting up around 6:30 am.

one more thing before i go: i love japanese commercials. my favorite one so far had this guy at the bottom of the ocean, hugging a HUGE egg. it was all very matter-of-fact. then all of a sudden bubbles were rising from the ocean floor and he tightened his grip on the egg, wrapping his body around it, like the egg was in jeopardy or something. all of this happened in like, ten seconds. i laughed until i cried.

anyway, more later.
