diaries usually have titles that have nothing to do with the diary itself

i want to get to bed as soon as possible, so im going to make this fast.

somehow i ended up at school by 7:50 AM.

first and second period were blocked. i had english reading again, but this time with hayashi-sensei instead of taniguchi-sensei. hayashi-sensei comes across as being nice at first, but gets progressively more moodly the longer you know her. this is what sara told me, plus i met hayashi-sensei two years ago and found out firsthand.

anyway, class was uneventful. i spent most of it reading geisha, a life.

third hour was oral english. the teacher was really, really nice. apparently shes from chicago.

fourth period, bible studies. i was completely lost and read the whole time.

i was dragged off to the gym during lunch, where everyone was busy practicing the dance routine for sports day. i joined in, with pom-poms and everything. i didnt feel particularly self-conscious, surprisingly.

sixth period was kanji. the teacher handed out workbooks and the four of us got to work. 50 minutes of nonstop kanji practice.

my last class of the day was biology. i think the teacher was lecturing on genetics. anyway, i had to practice kanji just to stay awake.

moegi and i went to calligraphy club after school. once again, i read.

moegi had me try writing haru ("spring"). she set everything out for me - a big piece of thin rice paper, a calligraphy brush, black wet ink. while i was waiting for moegi to finish up i painted a little picture. i havent decided who im going to mail it to yet.

we left school around 5. i finished geisha, a life on the train and dug norwegian wood out of my backpack.

we finally got back at 7. i chatted online with pat for a few minutes. had a bowl of clam chowder and thick slices of sourdough bread and a bowl of fruit for dinner.

right now im watching a movie on tv, in english with japanese subtitles. its about some pop stars bodyguard. i dont even know what its called. probably the bodyguard or something lame like that.

speaking of movies, i saw an ad for kill bill: volume 2. its hitting theaters on april 26th. ive heard that going to the movies in japan is incredibly expensive, but im determined to see it anyway.

now its 9.

end of transmission.
